North Easts’s Matt Reed made the finals of two prestigious national awards and was hailed as a young comedy prodigy with his arrival on the scene back in the day. His affable and often spontaneous style has attracted a large and rapturous following across the UK. An effortless jester with the crowd, Reed has a natural connection with audiences that is found in few comics. Regarded as consistently amazing as a live performer, his recent shows are somehow being cited as the best of his career, the man is in full swing.
Brilliantly sharp with crowds of any type, he has a natural warmth and the ability to create rapport with all walks of life – people genuinely love him. As a result, he is hugely in demand, not just in comedy clubs but for an eclectic variety of events from music festivals to burlesque shows!
He’s also a hot favourite of some of the biggest star in comedy and has supported on tour the likes of international superstars John Bishop, Sean Lock, Jim Jefferies Tim Minchin and Frankie Boyle.
His everyman style and lightening retorts have made him a comedian’s favourite, and earned him several accolades.
Matt was a finalist in the Daily Telegraph Award in 2002 alongside Mark Watson and Gary Delaney. He has reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards and the So You Think You’re Funny awards. He was also a finalist in the industry-selected Leicester New Act of the Year award.
